workshops

we run straight 8 workshops of various shapes and sizes. we’ve worked with or at SXSW, jameson whiskey in los angeles, D&AD multiple times, port eliot literary festival and many more. check out more about our 2018 D&AD workshop here

most recently we ran a workshop for children’s mobility charity whizz-kidz over two saturdays for 7 young people, in partnership with music company leland originals and full service film lab cinelab london

this workshop came from left field (that’s a story in itself). we are so glad it did… working with these young people was a very special experience for all involved and we’re grateful for the opportunity…

the first saturday we all devised and shot a super 8 film in the style of straight 8, led by ed sayers, will cummock and assisted by louis sayers. the film went off to cinelab to be processed in the same chemicals as major motion pictures. the second saturday we worked with the group on their soundtrack, without watching the film. ed critchley and gary downing of leland originals joined forces with us again for this day and louis and betty sayers were helping out. at the end of the session, we put the soundtrack on the film and gathered round to enjoy its global premiere together
